Stretch Mark Camouflage: Which Ones Can Be Made Unnoticeable

In shortIn short. Creams do not remove stretch marks. Mature white stretch marks with even relief can be camouflaged with pigment matched to the skin — they become almost unnoticeable. Fresh red ones, and drawn-in ones, are first brought to maturity or levelled in structure. What suits you is clear from a photograph.

Stretch marks come as red and white, and this is about their age, not your skin tone. This is where the answer to what can be done about them begins.

Red and white: the difference

Red and purple stretch marks are fresh. They are still changing, and applying colour to them is premature. White stretch marks are mature and stable, and it is these that suit camouflage best. So with fresh ones, maturity is awaited first, while mature white ones can be worked with confidently.

Why creams do not help

Topical products do not reach the necessary depth and do not change the structure of stretch marks. A stretch mark is scar tissue, and it has to be worked with differently.

How they are made unnoticeable

If the relief is even, camouflage follows straight away: pigment is matched to the skin, and the marks stop standing out. If the stretch marks are drawn in, atrophic, the structure is levelled first with collagen therapy — it prompts the skin's own collagen and restores the relief. Relief is always stronger than colour.

The work is done by area: abdomen, thighs, arms, back. Usually several sessions are needed, about two months apart.

Healing and aftercare

Showering resumes the next day, with cool water. Ten days without pool, sauna or steaming the area, then your usual rhythm, and SPF 50 without fail: fresh pigment is kept from the sun. Once fully healed you can sunbathe — the pigment sits within the skin, not on its surface, so the area tans together with the skin.

FAQ

Can stretch marks be removed completely?

They cannot be removed completely. The aim is to give the skin back an even appearance so the stretch marks stop being noticeable.

Can red stretch marks be camouflaged?

Fresh red ones — too early. Maturity is awaited first; the method works best on white ones.

How many sessions are needed?

Several, about two months apart. A closer figure comes after a photograph of the area.
